Most of you probably have heard this by now, but it's official: www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,9395,00.html I am not suprised at all, and I really do think that this is the best thing for the show. It's gone so far down the tubes that I've only seen 2 eps this season, even though I do like Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish a LOT in their roles. I am very sad though. I'm a weirdo, but "The X-Files" was a huge influence on me and what I plan to do for a career, and losing it will be a huge loss to quality TV. The show has been revolutionary for what it does, and the current shows "Alias" and "21" owe it a huge debt. On the other hand, I can now look forward to Gillian Anderson's directorial career and watch David Duchovny go down the tubes with great delight. And long live movie sequels! BTW, I am now really ticked that I managed to go to LA and NOT SEE A REMOTE TAPING! Doubtful I will now.

definately the best thing to do, though. it couldn't stay on life support forever. i hope (although i doubt) gillian goes onto to greater recognition for her talent, and david gets what he deserves! lol the thought of movie sequels sounds kewl too, but only if i can go see them w/ Dana

the x-files pretty much ended for me once mulder found out what really happened to his sister, and at that point the show started to move away from being really cool intelligent sci-fi to more lowest common denominator horror... and unfortunate trend that is now happening with buffy the vampire slayer.
at least there is angel and 24, and it looks as though i'm gonna have to give alias a shot.
peace, Happydoug
