I stand between the blackened leaves, A city throbs until the ashes fall away Today we crawl upon our knees, How long has this been ticking by? Cannot look away, look far away When lightning pours into the tree Icons bursting from my seams Bonfire lights in a stylizied dream Well it's not my name they say, A ship is launching from the captain's grave. Is this the stage of the king's play, How long will you anticipate? Cannot look away, look far away When lightning pours into the tree This is a world of unseen things I would reach out and take from that tree, And satisfy those restless dreams Old man mending an angel's broken wings We can look away, look far away When lightning pours into the streets
