... her house was robbed tonight. the thieves broke in through her bedroom, and obliterated her door in the process. (un?)luckily, no-one was home at the time.

That's awful! I just am so glad that you and your family are ok. Material things can always be replaced hon, but never your loved ones. At least you and your family are ok. Try to hang in there and know we are all thinking of you. Let us know how you're doing soon.
